Brow of Calm

I am the garden in which you wander; I am the pool that reflects the moonlight and the nightingale that sings as you walk beneath the trees. I am the breeze that rustles your wings, reflecting distant moonbeams. Here you are in secret but for me, here you are in comfort, the stars gently fall like diamonds on silk in this place of dreams. I am the path unwinding where you set your feet, I am the tears that line your cheeks but I will never fall from you. I am uplifting, for you to spread your wings, we are the eternal living unfolding and the silent alone. I am the Brow of Calm.

a single seagull soars aloft, the sky
her sanctuary
sole silhouette in Sol's ascent
through this kingdom light and airy
she wings on high winsome in youth
with a certain seabird flair
alternating arcs and angles over empty ocean air
strings of stratus circulating as she glides
above the sun
lend a slight tint to her feathers
in the space she shares with none
against the fullness of the nimbus
who with daybreak nestle soft
while cirrus streamers sweep low seaward
cumulus clouds so coil aloft

you can't understand
the depths of depravity
how we all tumble down
the pull of gravity
the fall of man
descent into fire
i can't hear a sound
bogged in the mire
ecstatic heights
bring depressive lows
balanced emotion
accidental prose
offset wrong from right
cycle escaped
personal devotion
consciousness shaped

Inside this new love, die.
Your way begins on the other side.
Become the sky.
Take an axe to the prison wall.
Escape.

Walk out like someone suddenly born into color.
Do it now.

You're covered with thick cloud.
Slide out the side. die, and be quiet.
Quietness is the surest sign that you've died.
Your old life was a frantic running from silence.

The speechless full moon comes out now.

"Of all the creatures of earth, only human beings can change their patterns. Man alone is the architect of his destiny. Human beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives." - William James

For shame, deny that thou bear'st love to any,
Who for thyself art so improvident!
Grant if thou wilt, thou art beloved of many,
But that thou none lov'st is most evident;
For thou art possesed with murd'rous hate,
That 'gainst thyself thou stick'st not to conspire,
Seeking that beauteous roof to ruinate,
Which to repair should be thy chief desire.
O, change thy thought, that I may change my mind!
Shall hate be fairer lodged than gentle love?
Be as thy presence is, gracious and kind,
Or to thyself at least kind-hearted prove.
Make thee another love for me,
That beauty still may live in thine or thee.

Still not much common ground
I rarely touch down here
Sand and lost splendor
Ruins of kingdoms
Power
They gave me jewels

there were men
who took first steps
down new roads
armed with nothing
but their own vision

Enclosed in our bubbles, we wander,
Thoughts in our heads, we ponder.
Look at me, I look back,
Shed our skins for just one moment,
Where the rhythm runs deep, no fear of attack
Down here under the ground,
With the all-pervading sound,
We free our minds of our constant toil.
Inhibition lost, expression reigns,
Leave all our pains, under the soil.
Here and now we are the same, you and I,
Swimming the oceans and soaring through the sky.
Spinning around, hands in the air,
Shuffle of feet, smiles everywhere.
Aching to fly,Without a care.
